Fan bearing is a type of bearing, which refers to the type of bearing used by the air-cooled radiator fan. In mechanical engineering, there are many types of bearings, but only a few types are used in radiator products: sleeve bearings using sliding friction, ball bearings using rolling friction, and a mixture of the two types of bearings. In recent years, the new technologies introduced by the major radiator manufacturers in the field of bearings, such as magnetic bearing, water wave bearing, magnetic core bearing, and Raffles bearing, are also improved from the basic forms of bearings above, and the operating principle remains unchanged. Oily bearings and ball bearings are mainly used on ordinary air-cooled radiators.
Oily bearing is a sleeve bearing with sliding friction. It uses lubricating oil as lubricant and drag reducing agent. It has low operating noise and low manufacturing cost during initial use. However, this bearing is severely worn and has a long service life compared with ball bearing. In addition, the bearing will be used for a long time. Due to the oil seal (it is impossible for computer radiator products to use high-grade oil seal, which is generally common paper oil seal), the lubricating oil will gradually volatilize, and the dust will also enter the bearing, which will cause the fan speed to slow down, noise to increase and other problems. In serious cases, the eccentric fan caused by bearing wear will cause severe vibration. If these phenomena occur, either open the oil seal to refuel, or just eliminate and buy new fans.
